Virginia's Awesome One-Day Cleanse
(Adjust to your timing as necessary)
7:00 a.m. Glass of warm water with lemon and honey (This will jump start your digestive system, and you will need it to be rockin' for the entire day, since you are attempting to expel your bodies' excess junk)
7:30 a.m. Glass of Linseed water (optional and okay if you skip) (Soak 2 teaspoons of organic linseeds in large glass of hot water and let stand. Drink only the liquid after it has cooled down.)
8:00 a.m. Breakfast - choose from fresh fruit, miso soup or veggie juice Fruit - eat a cup of fresh, room temp fruit. Avoid oranges or grapefruits, as they are too acidic. If you eat grapes, eat them by themselves. Miso - if you don't want to deal with making this soup, you can buy some ahead of time. (This super simple soup recipe is in the right column of the Soulstice newsletter) Juice - 1 cucumber; ΒΌ inch piece of grated ginger root, 4 celery stalks, 4oz. alfalfa sprouts, 3 sprigs parsley, 1 peeled carrot-juice and enjoy
9:30 a.m. Herbal tea - your choice of 1 or 2 cups of herbal tea, try to avoid green tea as it has a lot of caffeine
10:00 a.m. Fruit Juice - make this juice yourself with a juicer if you can. If you are on the run, be sure to buy a bottle of Naked juice or get an Apple/Carrot juice from JambaJuice (If you're looking for additional juicing ideas just email me)
12:30 p.m. Lunch - choose from one of these 4 choices: 1. Raw salad with sprouts 2. Raw mint/cucumber soup (recipe below) 3. Raw sauerkraut 4. Steamed grains - only if you're really hungry (1 cup of millet, quinoa, rice or amaranth)
2:00 p.m. One cup of herbal tea
2:30 p.m. Detox Juice (drink a veggie juice this time and try to use mostly greens: handful of parsley, 1 kale leaf, 5 carrots and a tiny piece of ginger OR 6 carrots, 2 celeries, 1 apple. If you are on the go, just do a double shot of wheat grass at JambaJuice, followed by a small carrot/apple juice, or buy both and mix)
3:00 p.m. Once cup of herbal tea 3:30 p.m. Snack time! Munch on some sunflower or pumpkin seeds or some raw sauerkraut. 4:00 p.m. Veggie Smoothie - YUM! 6 juiced carrots, 1 avocado (soft), 10 basil leaves, 1 apple (cored/cut), and 1 slice lemon. Blend in food processor or blender.
5:30 p.m. Dinner - big raw salad with sprouts. If you're really hungry, munch on some steamed grains.
7:30 p.m. Warm water with lemon and honey
8:30 p.m. Dry brush your skin and take a mineral detox bath. Relax and meditate. If you want, you can add some nice essential oils to your bath, as well as salts, or some liquid minerals.
9:00 p.m. Late night munchies - crunch some celery sticks before bed ONLY if you are feeling really hungry.
Victory! THAT'S IT!! You've made it through your 1-day cleanse!
As you can see, there are a few things to know and prepare for ahead of time. Plan for your cleanse the day or two beforehand - especially if you know your cleanse day will be busy.
