Soulstice Therapists

Ann BrooksAnn Brooks (Co-Founder) - has practiced medically-based massage therapy since 2001, and received her fundamental massage therapy training at the Center of Advanced Therapeutics in Denver, CO.  As her practice evolved, Ann decided to concentrate her efforts by helping those with acute injuries and in need of rehabilitation.  In 2004, she had the opportunity to begin treating people recovering from reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedures. Prior to her massage therapy career, Ann worked within the managed care industry for 15 years.  This extensive background enables her to effectively communicate with the medical and insurance community.

Ann has combined her business and massage therapy experience to co-own Soulstice, Ltd.  She and Kent are continually challenged to educate clients, employees, referring physicians, healthcare organizations, and the community at large about the value of Soulstice Peri-operative Therapy.

Kent LemburgKent Lemburg (Co-Founder) - has practiced massage therapy for 19 years, a graduate of the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, holds his national certification in Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). How We Got Here

Ann Brooks and Kent Lemburg are seasoned massage therapists with a passion to contribute to the ever evolving massage therapy industry.  Soulstice, was created by these two therapists who have realized this market niche, the desire to provide a valuable service to a population greater than the capabilities of their own private practices, and the willingness to take a risk.

In 1995, a serendipitous encounter led Kent to start seeing the liposculpture patients of a local plastic surgeon.  Dr. Reynolds M.D. believed that massage expedited his patients' recovery process, but found that his patients were noncompliant when prescribed post-operative self massage.  What he found was that, in general, patients didn't have the knowledge or understanding to apply appropriate pressure, duration or frequency.

Dr. Reynolds began his collaboration with Kent so that he could rely on the technical skills of a soft tissue specialist to complete the post-operative manual work.  The results were promising.  His patients reported feeling supported and encouraged with hastened recoveries.  Dr. Reynolds began to refer all of his patients to Kent realizing that all of his patients could benefit from the effects of post-operative massage therapy.

Upon the completion of massage therapy school in 2001, Ann immediately began her private practice.  She emphasized helping those dealing with chronic pain and needing rehabilitation. At the same time she developed and taught a massage therapy Business Practices course for a Denver-based massage therapy school.  When she had the opportunity to treat her first plastic surgery client in 2004 she intuitively knew that she was doing what she was called to do.

In 2005, Ann merged her former company, TimeOut Therapies, with Soulstice, Ltd. to create more opportunity for peri-operative clients to receive appropriate, highly specialized treatment, complimenting their surgical rehabilitation.
